EveryFAQ publishes flooring guides for homeowners in the United States. We cover flooring types, costs, installation requirements, maintenance and the everyday problems people run into after the floor is down.
We started EveryFAQ in 21-06-2026 because flooring content online has a specific failure: it tells you a floor is “durable” or “waterproof” without telling you what to check. A shopper reads five guides and still can’t tell two vinyl planks apart on a shelf.
So we write the numbers down.
What We Actually Do Differently
Every guide we publish names the specification that decides the purchase:
Vinyl
wear layer in mils, and what 12 mil versus 20 mil means for your room
Laminate
the AC abrasion class, and which rooms need AC4 rather than AC3
Tile
PEI rating, water absorption, and the DCOF slip threshold for wet floors
Hardwood
Janka hardness by species, and how many refinishes a floor has left
Carpet
fiber, density and twist, not just the face weight retailers lead with
Costs
installed price ranges, including removal, subfloor prep and waste
We would rather give you one number you can act on than a paragraph of adjectives.
Where Our Information Comes From
We build guides from primary sources rather than from summarising other blogs:
- Published industry standards, including ANSI A137.1 for tile slip resistance, ASTM F2170 and F1869 for concrete slab moisture, the EN 13329 AC scale for laminate, and National Wood Flooring Association guidance for wood
- Manufacturer specification sheets, installation instructions and warranty documents
- Current retail and installed pricing from national suppliers and cost aggregators
Where a figure comes from a standard, we name the standard so you can check it yourself.
Where Our Information Comes From

Gulraiz has spent four years researching and writing home-improvement content, and now works full time on flooring. He built EveryFAQ around a simple rule: every guide names the specification that decides the purchase — the wear layer, the AC class, the PEI rating, the Janka number — rather than telling readers a floor is "durable" and leaving them to guess.
His research runs on manufacturer specification sheets, published industry standards, and current installed pricing rather than on other flooring blogs.
He is not an installer, and does not pretend to be. Where a question involves subfloor structure, moisture testing or anything that could void a warranty, EveryFAQ says so and points readers to a qualified professional.
What We Are Not
EveryFAQ is an informational website. We are not licensed contractors, installers, or manufacturers, and nothing here replaces an assessment of your actual home.
Flooring decisions can involve structural questions, moisture problems, asbestos in older buildings, and warranty conditions that only a professional on site can judge. Where a topic crosses that line, we say so and tell you to get someone qualified in. We would rather send you to a contractor than have you take our word for something that could cost you a floor.
